A part of me wondered if I was ever going to write this sentence. Watching Kasane Teto’s rise in popularity and pop-culture in real time over the past three years has often been a surreal experience, but our newest, most breaking story almost certainly takes the cake.

After almost a year of rumors and supposed leaks, Kasane Teto has been officially confirmed to be collaborating with Epic Games’s “Fortnite”. On October 23rd, 2026, the TWINDRILL Twitter account posted a teaser trailer for the collab, which the official Fortnite account responded to, providing further validity. The post also mentions fellow virtual singer Hatsune Miku, who will similarly be receiving new content in Fortnite after previously collaborating with the game in early 2025.

While the specifics of the collab are still yet to be revealed, it is almost certain that Kasane Teto will be receiving a player skin for purchase and use within the game, as well as accompanying cosmetic items. Furthermore, it is also guaranteed that a selection of popular Kasane Teto songs will be featured in game for the Fortnite Festival mode, though which tracks in particular are still unknown at the time of writing. So far, one of the upcoming tracks has been teased in game, being Jamie Paige’s “Birdbrain”, specifically the version of the song featured in the Content Companion DLC for the rhythm game “UNBEATABLE”, released earlier this year.

While there’s been no date given for this collab, we are able to assume that it will coincide with Fornite’s next season, Chapter 7 Season 5, which is set to begin on November 1st, 2026. You can expect for us to follow this story in the coming weeks.
This collab comes at a controversial time for Epic Games, after the company and its current CEO, Tim Sweeney, made a series of pro-AI posts to social media. This includes announcing a “vibe-coded” (code which has been AI generated or assisted) revision of the Epic Games Launcher, and hosting the “2026 Epic AI MegaJam”, a gamejam in which participants are heavily encouraged to use AI for the development process.

This has left many with mixed feelings about the upcoming collaboration with Kasane Teto, due to the prospect of supporting Epic Games by purchasing the new content. With all of the public discourse, not only about the collaboration, but the current state of discussions relating to Kasane Teto as a whole, TWINDRILL came forward to put out a statement on October 26th, 2026.

Roughly, the posts translate to say that they are disappointed by the arguments and comparisons that have been prevalent in online discussions recently. They state that Kasane Teto’s longevity is only possible thanks to old fans sharing their passion with new ones, and that while there will be disagreeable people, it’s only by trusting within and sharing the love we have for Kasane Teto with fans and artists alike, old and new, that will allow her to flourish. They conclude by asking fans to share a favorite song of theirs with someone new.
It remains to be seen how public reception will develop from here.
With that most immediately attention-grabbing story out of the way, we have a lot of merchandise news to catch up on, as this autumn continues to be a very busy one for the red-headed diva!
All of the remaining merchandise stories come from GoodSmile, who have been especially active this October. Starting with the announcement of the G.S. Collection Kasane Teto Punk Style figurine on October 2nd, 2026. The figure is designed by artist kieed, and more details about its availability and release date are still pending.

Speaking of awaiting updates, later that same day, GoodSmile announced the Nendoroid Surprise Kasane Teto Collection, a series of Kasane Teto figures featuring a varied selection of her different designs, and most notably Kasane Ted. This is the first figure of Kasane Ted produced by GoodSmile, and collectors are excited to see our often forgotten, sharp dressed chimera earn acknowledgement. As with the last figure, we are still waiting on details for a release.

For figures with a more ready availability, on October 6th, 2026, GoodSmile and partner FuRyu revealed an addition to their Noodle Stopper line of figurines after the success of their previous one, which is currently available for preorder for $27.99, and will remain open until October 28th. The figure features a unique design inspired by a baker’s outfit, with Kasane Teto holding her most iconic and favorite snack, a fresh loaf of french bread.

Our last merchandise and GoodSmile story for this article is, surprise surprise, another figure! This time as a part of GoodSmile’s Nendoroid Doll series, announced on October 8th, 2026. The figure uniquely features removable and changeable clothing, allowing the owner to create and design their own outfits. The figure is currently for preorder on the GoodSmile website for $60.99, with preorders closing on November 18th. It’s expected to ship in the summer of 2027.

Lastly, we have a (semi-late) story regarding a community event and live show, Teto Night, which was originally announced on September 20th, 2026, and took place on October 10th, which is Teto Day for those who are unaware. While the event has long passed by the time of this article going up, an upload of DJ Shü’s set is available to watch on YouTube, featuring a collection of well-known and more obscure Teto songs, with notable English inclusions being “ROT FOR CLOUT” and “Honestly.” We recommend you check it out!

That concludes this rather loaded article! To catch up with the large volume of new stories and the breaking nature of the Fortnite collaboration, we tried to be brief, but our next articles should be more in-depth as per usual. Project0401 is grateful for your patience, and we look forward to reporting new stories as they come! In the meantime, we have another interview coming soon, so please look out for that!
